Every piece passes a detailed inspection before it is offered — craftsmanship, materials, hardware, logos, stamps and date codes. No exceptions, however trusted the source.

The examination
Authentication is not a glance and a gut feeling — it is a discipline. Each piece is assessed point by point against the maison's own conventions for its era:
- Leather & materials — grain pattern, hand-feel, scent and dye behaviour, matched to the leather the listing claims.
- Craftsmanship & stitching — count, slant, tension and the tell-tale rhythm of hand construction.
- Logos, stamps & date codes — heat-stamp depth and typeface, blind date stamps, serials and era markers, all consistent with the piece's claimed year. (Curious how date stamps work? We wrote a guide.)
- Hardware — weight, plating, engraving crispness, and the fit and action of locks, zips and turn-locks.
- Overall construction — proportions, shape, interior architecture and the hundred small decisions each maison makes consistently.
On handmade character
Hermès pieces are made by hand, and artisan character is part of their beauty: small natural variations in leather grain, stitching, glazing or shape are inherent to a handcrafted object. They are hallmarks of the craft — not flaws, and not signs of inauthenticity.
Our guarantee, in plain words
Every piece we sell is 100% authentic — guaranteed. In the unlikely event of a concern, we accept verification from Bababebi or LegitGrails, the two independent authenticators most respected in this market. If a piece is ever proven inauthentic by either, you receive a full refund upon its return in original condition. Authenticity claims should be initiated within 48 hours of receiving your piece — prompt enough to protect both sides, generous enough to have it independently checked.

Every listing includes documentation photography — stamp, hardware, corners, interior — alongside our area-by-area condition standard. Before you commit, you are warmly encouraged to request additional photos, a video, or a live video consultation and inspect the piece with an advisor in real time.
