Assurance
The Condition Standard
What you read is what you receive. Every piece is assessed against the same structured standard before it is offered — graded honestly, photographed honestly, priced honestly.
The grades
The eight areas we assess
A single grade can hide a lot — so we never rely on the grade alone. Each listing documents these areas individually, with supporting photography:
- Exterior — leather surface, colour trueness, scuffs and marks.
- Corners — softening, rubbing, exposure or reinforcement.
- Hardware — lustre, hairline scratches, plating wear and function of locks and zips.
- Handles & straps — patina, darkening, slack or cracking.
- Interior — lining condition, cleanliness, marks and pockets.
- Structure — whether the piece stands and holds its intended shape.
- Odour — any scent (smoke, perfume, storage), disclosed plainly.
- Completeness — box, dust bag, clochette, lock & keys, cards, receipts.
Honest photography, by design
Campaign imagery makes a bag beautiful; documentation imagery makes it true. Every listing carries both. Documentation shots show real colour in natural light and include a numbered set — front, back, sides, base, interior, handles, hardware, corners, stamp and accessories — with wear photographed deliberately, never hidden in shadow. If we would mention it in person, you will see it in the photos.
Reading a listing like a professional
- Start with corners and handles — they age first and honestly.
- Check hardware straight-on: hairlines catch light at an angle.
- Match the grade against the photos. If a seller's images and words disagree, believe the images — here, they will always agree.
- Weigh completeness: a full set protects future resale value.
Want to look closer?
On any piece, you may request additional photos, a video, or a live video consultation — an advisor will walk the bag with you, area by area. It is the closest thing to holding it.
