- Birkin 25 — 25 × 20 × 13 cm. A phone, cardholder, keys, lipstick, sunglasses. Elegant, deliberate, evening-friendly.
- Birkin 30 — 30 × 22 × 16 cm. Adds a small pouch, a compact umbrella, a slim tablet. The everyday size.
On the body
The 25 reads as an accessory: petite frames carry it without being carried by it, and it photographs beautifully held at the fingertips. The 30 reads as intention — enough presence to anchor an outfit, still compact enough to never overwhelm. Taller frames often find the 25 disappears on them; the 30 rarely disappears on anyone.
Structure and slouch
Size changes how leather behaves. A 25 in almost any leather keeps its shape. Both sizes are blue-chip. In recent years the 25 has commanded the strongest premiums on the secondary market, driven by demand from Asia and by the broader shift to smaller bags. The 30 remains the most liquid size worldwide — the one every collector understands. Neither is a wrong answer; the 25 is fashion's favourite today, the 30 is the enduring standard.

- What do you actually carry? Empty your current bag onto a table. If it fits on an A5 sheet, the 25 will serve.
- Hand-held or elbow? The 25 lives in the hand; the 30 is happiest on the forearm.
